Trini Kwan

Thuy Trang stars as Trini Kwan on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," the original Yellow Ranger and one of the five teenagers chosen to defend Earth from Rita Repulsa. As part of the founding team, Trini is portrayed as intelligent, calm, and dependable, and she becomes one of the central heroes of the series’ earliest seasons. Trang appears throughout the first season and part of the second, helping make Trini one of the franchise’s most recognizable original characters.

Before joining "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Trang had only recently moved into acting, and the role of Trini becomes her first major screen breakthrough. Her performance, combined with the show’s enormous success in the early 1990s, quickly makes her widely known to young audiences. During her time on the series, she is also noted for doing many of her own stunts and for bringing strong physical presence to the role.

After leaving "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Trang continues pursuing acting and seeks to move further into film and television work. Although her screen career is relatively brief, she remains closely associated with the role of Trini and with the original Rangers lineup that helped launch the franchise into pop-culture success. Her place in the series has remained especially significant to longtime fans of the original cast.

Outside of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Trang’s legacy remains strongly tied to her work on the show and to her importance as one of the original Rangers. She is still remembered as one of the defining faces of the franchise’s earliest era, and her portrayal of Trini continues to hold an important place in the history of "Power Rangers."
