Amy Jo Johnson stars as Kimberly Hart on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," the original Pink Ranger and one of the founding members of the team chosen to defend Earth from Rita Repulsa. Athletic, confident, and compassionate, Kimberly quickly becomes one of the series’ most recognizable characters, balancing teenage life with the demands of being a superhero. Her role places her at the center of many of the show’s early stories and helps make her one of the franchise’s best-known Rangers.
Before joining "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Johnson trained in gymnastics and pursued acting after moving to New York and later Los Angeles. Her casting as Kimberly becomes her breakout role and introduces her to an international audience. During her time with the franchise, she also appears in "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" and later in "Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie," extending her association with one of the most popular characters in the early history of "Power Rangers."
After leaving "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Johnson builds a broader career in television and film. She goes on to play Julie Emrick on "Felicity" and later stars as Jules Callaghan on "Flashpoint," adding major dramatic television roles to a career that began in family action programming. She also appears in films and television movies while developing a reputation as a performer able to move comfortably between drama, action, and lighter material.
Outside of acting, Johnson has also worked as a musician, writer, and director, expanding her career well beyond the role that first made her famous. Her work across film, television, and music reflects a long-running presence in entertainment, and her portrayal of Kimberly remains one of the defining performances of 1990s children’s television. On "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," she helps create one of the franchise’s most enduring and beloved characters.
