Paul Schrier stars as Farkas “Bulk” Bulkmeier on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," the loud, overconfident teen best known as one half of the comic duo Bulk and Skull. Introduced as a bully and troublemaker at Angel Grove High, Bulk becomes a major source of comic relief throughout the series’ early years, though the character gradually shows more loyalty, courage, and heart than his bluster first suggests. Schrier’s performance helps make Bulk one of the most recognizable non-Ranger characters in the franchise.
Before joining "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Schrier trained as a performer and later built a career that extended beyond acting alone. Although Bulk became his breakout role, Schrier’s work in entertainment would eventually include directing and comic-book art in addition to on-screen performance. His long association with the franchise made him one of the most familiar recurring faces in the broader "Power Rangers" universe.
In addition to playing Bulk on "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Schrier continued with the character well beyond the original series, appearing across multiple later "Power Rangers" installments and even directing several franchise episodes. That unusually long run made Bulk one of the franchise’s longest-serving continuing characters and helped turn Schrier into a lasting part of "Power Rangers" history. His work combines broad physical comedy with a gradually more sympathetic character arc that audiences continued to recognize for years.
Outside of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," Schrier has continued working in entertainment as an actor, director, voice performer, and artist. Even so, his portrayal of Bulk remains the role most closely identified with his career, and it stands as one of the defining comic performances of the franchise’s early era. On "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," he helps create a character whose humor, persistence, and long-running presence make him a memorable part of the show’s identity.
