Elizabeth Morehead plays Karen Blake the artsy mother of the family. A free-spirited individual who's got more than enough love for all six of her kids, Karen knows how difficult it is for them to adjust to their new home and family and is always there to offer a helping hand. Morehead is also a wonderful and warm individual who has become a mother to the cast members both on and off the set.
Best known as Dr. Jennifer Daulton in the "Flipper" TV series, Morehead is also frequently recognized by "Seinfeld" fans for her guest-starring role as George's concert pianist girlfriend in the memorable Pez dispenser episode. Theatre-goers also know Morehead from her award-winning performance in the 1994 play "Specter" and the 1998 Los Angeles premiere of "A Piece of My Heart." Her other television credits include a feature role in Tom Hanks' "From the Earth to the Moon" miniseries and guest star appearances on "Herman's Head," "Dear John," and "Camp Wilder." Her films include "Route 9," "Sandtrap" and "Interceptor," among others.
In her free time, Morehead enjoys traveling to far-off places. She learned to scuba dive while working on "Flipper," and now tries to go diving as often as possible. Born and raised in rural Malden, Missouri, she now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their two dogs, a cat and a tank full of fish. Her birthday is January 29.
