 
Luis is the second eldest child of Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald and Martin Fitzgerald. At an early age, Luis had to step up as the father figure of his family when his father and older brother Antonio disappeared. This meant leaving college behind to become a police officer to help put food on the table.
After spending years blaming the Crane family for these very disappearances, Luis found love with Sheridan Crane and had a child with her. Unfortunately, she ended up marrying Antonio, and his ex-fiancée Beth Wallace kidnapped and stole his son after passing him off as her own child with Luis.
