Miles Heizer stars as Alex Standall on "13 Reasons Why," the intelligent and often sarcastic Liberty High student whose actions become closely tied to the events surrounding Hannah Baker’s tapes. As the son of a deputy sheriff, Alex finds himself struggling with guilt, friendship, and the consequences of decisions made by himself and those around him. His complicated relationships with Hannah, Jessica, and the other students place him at the center of many of the series’ most important emotional conflicts.
Before joining "13 Reasons Why," Heizer had already built a successful television career, most notably through his role as Drew Holt on the family drama "Parenthood." His performance on that series earned recognition for its emotional depth and helped establish him as one of television’s notable young actors. By the time he joined "13 Reasons Why," he brought years of experience portraying complex and vulnerable characters.
In addition to his television work, Heizer appeared in film projects and independent productions that expanded his range as a performer. His ability to portray emotionally conflicted characters made him particularly well suited for the dramatic and character-focused storytelling of "13 Reasons Why."
As "13 Reasons Why" begins, Heizer brings sensitivity, intensity, and emotional honesty to the role of Alex Standall. On the series, he helps explore the impact of guilt, friendship, and personal responsibility while contributing to the interconnected story surrounding Hannah Baker and Liberty High.
