In Rome, Theresa kisses Ethan, convinced that the romance of the city will bring them back together, but Ethan again insists he is only there to protect her and help their sisters. Later, Theresa video chats with little Ethan, and the boy sweetly asks after his "daddy," strengthening her delusions. Elsewhere, Simone and Paloma continue following clues around Rome, Jessica remains unsettled by the sense of being followed, and Chad searches for Whitney while a monk stalks him from the shadows. Whitney stays cloistered in guilt, convinced her suffering is righteous and necessary.
