Maria is sick, and Miguel tries to prove he can care for her with Kay's help as Pilar encourages him to pursue Kay for Maria's sake. Kay struggles to balance work and motherhood while Miguel tries to show he can be responsible. Elsewhere, Theresa aggressively tempts Ethan, who briefly responds to her kiss before pulling away and reminding her that he is married. When Theresa locks the door and refuses to let him leave, their desire, history, and loyalty collide in a painfully charged confrontation.
