Julian is the son of ruthless businessman Alistair Crane and Alistair's late wife, Katherine. The Cranes are one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the world. The Crane roots have been in Harmony for hundreds of years and the family basically controls the town. Julian, who is just as ruthless as his father, never lets anyone forget just how powerful the Cranes are.

Julian's younger sister is Sheridan but Julian thinks she might as well be a member of another family! That woman has absolutely none of the Crane traits he holds so dear¡Kselfishness, deviousness, or arrogance!
