Grant Show stars as Spence Westmore on "Devious Maids," the wealthy actor and television star whose personal life becomes closely intertwined with maid Rosie Falta. Charming but emotionally troubled, Spence struggles with addiction, family issues, and the pressures of celebrity life while trying to maintain stability in his relationships. His storyline places him at the center of several of the show’s major emotional and romantic conflicts, making him one of the series’ most significant male characters.
Before joining "Devious Maids," Show had already built a long television career and was especially well known for his role as Jake Hanson on "Melrose Place." His work on that series helped establish him as one of the recognizable faces of 1990s primetime drama. In the years that followed, he continued appearing in television projects across drama, mystery, and soap-style programming.
In addition to his work on "Melrose Place," Show appeared in series such as "Point Pleasant," "Dirt," and other television productions that showcased his experience in serialized storytelling. That background made him a natural fit for "Devious Maids," a series built around glamour, secrets, relationships, and ongoing dramatic twists.
Outside of "Devious Maids," Show has continued working steadily in television, maintaining a career strongly associated with ensemble dramas and primetime soap operas. His portrayal of Spence Westmore brings a mix of charm, vulnerability, and instability to the series, helping deepen the emotional stakes of Rosie’s storyline and the larger world surrounding the maids and their employers.
June 1994, Jake put made an appearance on a third series, the pilot for Fox's, Models, Inc, but the show failed to take hold of an audience and was cancelled during its first season. While doing duty on Melrose Place, Show began dating series co-star Laura Leighton (Sydney). Oddly enough, as the show became darker in tone, his character became less of a brooder. Leaving behind the leather jacket, in April 1995, Show got the chance to flex his acting muscles a bit further as William Barret Travis in ABC's western epic miniseries Texas. As Dennis Pitt, Show next toplined Fox's television remake of the romance/thriller Pretty Poison.
