NBC brings a fresh twist to fantasy television with "Once Upon a Time," a new drama series that intertwines beloved fairy tale characters with the modern-day town of Storybrooke, Maine. The series offers a unique narrative approach by blending classic stories with contemporary drama, allowing audiences to experience familiar characters in entirely unexpected ways.
From executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, longtime writers and producers on Lost, the series invites viewers into a richly layered world where magic, mystery, and family secrets collide. Each episode reveals how the fairy tale past influences the present, providing both emotional depth and suspenseful storytelling.
Ginnifer Goodwin stars as Mary Margaret Blanchard/Snow White, a teacher whose forgotten past begins to resurface, while Jennifer Morrison portrays Emma Swan, a bail bondsperson drawn to Storybrooke in search of answers about her own mysterious origins. Josh Dallas plays Prince Charming/David Nolan, whose presence stirs memories and tensions, and Lana Parrilla stars as the enigmatic Mayor Regina Mills/The Evil Queen, whose hidden motives shape much of the town’s intrigue.
“Once Upon a Time” presents a bold new take on fairy tales for television audiences, combining adventure, drama, and romance in a modern setting while retaining the magic and wonder of the original stories.
"Once Upon a Time" is a production of ABC Studios in association with Kitsis/Horowitz Productions. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz serve as executive producers.
