Katie Cassidy, Stephanie Jacobsen, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, Shaun Sipos, Ashlee Simpson and Colin Egglesfield star in “Melrose Place 2.0,” the updated primetime drama that revisits the infamous West Hollywood apartment complex and introduces a new generation of residents entangled in ambition, romance and scandal.
Premiering on The CW in 2009, “Melrose Place 2.0” reimagines the original 1990s series for a contemporary audience. Set once again at 4616 Melrose Place, the series blends mystery with relationship drama, opening with the shocking death of the building’s landlord and unraveling secrets among the tenants. The show runs for one season, bringing back familiar faces while focusing on a new ensemble.
The series centers on publicist Ella Simms (Cassidy), whose fierce ambition drives her professional and personal choices, and medical student Lauren Yung (Lucas), who struggles to finance her education. David Breck (Rady), a filmmaker and the son of original character Michael Mancini, navigates complicated relationships within the courtyard community, while aspiring chef Jonah Miller (Sipos) pursues his Hollywood dreams alongside his girlfriend Riley Richmond (Jacobsen).
Ashlee Simpson portrays Violet Foster, a small-town girl with a hidden agenda, and Colin Egglesfield plays Auggie Kirkpatrick, a chef with a troubled past. Original cast members Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro reprise their roles as Sydney Andrews and Dr. Michael Mancini, connecting “Melrose Place 2.0” to its predecessor as the new residents confront betrayal, secrets and shifting loyalties.
“Melrose Place 2.0” is developed by Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer for The CW and produced by CBS Television Studios, continuing the legacy of the iconic address with a modern twist.
